Recycled Asphalt Pavement Scoping Study
Leading up to the design of the recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) pilot, research was undertaken to identify best practices for the specifications, design, production, testing and placement of RAP mixes. The Scoping Study includes a literature review and consultation with experts to better understand best practices used in other jurisdictions, as well as an analysis of market and supplier readiness, and environmental and technological considerations.
Best Practices Checklist for Recycled Asphalt Pavement Projects
The Best Practices Checklist for Recycled Asphalt Pavement Projects was developed to identify critical categories to evaluate when developing recycled asphalt projects. The checklist is based on research findings from site visits, interviews, the Recycled Asphalt Pavement Scoping Study, extensive stakeholder consultation led by the City of Richmond, and a review of standards and specifications. It also takes into consideration the need to focus on improving quality and increasing industry involvement.
Recycled Asphalt Pavement Technical Assessment Framework
The Recycled Asphalt Pavement Technical Assessment Framework was developed to assess how pavement producers satisfy best practices found in other jurisdictions, as well as requirements identified by purchasers related to their own procurement targets. The framework is provided here as an open-source document that users can download and customize to meet their corporate objectives. In this way, criteria weighting can be adjusted according to the categories identified as priorities to each user.
