Using Recycled Asphalt to Achieve Common Goals

This video describes the challenge of a main source of construction waste: used asphalt. The recycled asphalt paving pilot showcases a collaborative effort to demonstrate the opportunity of recycling reclaimed asphalt to both divert waste, and offset emissions. A strong leadership initiative across local government and industry, this project demonstrates the significant benefits of paving the way for circular economy principles within the built environment.

Piloting Recycled Asphalt to Showcase Opportunity

This video provides an overview of a pilot application of 40% recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) on a high volume arterial road in Richmond, BC. The project is believed to be the first such application on a public road in Canada. In the video, Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie invites cities across Canada to participate in creating solutions to managing asphalt waste through similar RAP applications.
