Members' Breakfast Forum
Circularity and the Built Environment

Date: September 29, 2022 7:30 am - 8:45 am

Location: Vancouver Convention Centre East (rooms 2 - 3)

Review Enlai Hooi’s slides from the Members Forum.

We’re excited to announce that a special National Zero Waste Council members’ networking and peer-learning breakfast forum will take place on the margins of the 2022 Zero Waste Conference.

Framed around the theme of Circularity and the Built Environment, featured speakers include thought leaders and innovators - Enlai Hooi, Head of Innovation, Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects and Kuo Ying-Chou, Founder and Partner, Bio-Architecture Formosana. Hooi and Kuo have led design projects that have embraced circular strategies ranging from adaptive re-use to design for disassembly and closed loop production. Their work has challenged their own notion of what it means to be an architect and city-builder; and their understanding of who is critical for collaboration in design and development. They have worked in contexts ranging from North America to Europe to Asia.

Members’ forums provide opportunities for members to hear from and engage with thought-leaders on select topics, and share with each other challenges and solutions that are experienced in the waste prevention and circular economy space.

We invite you to register for this special event and join with our guest speakers, to share your stories and experiences of actively implementing circular and waste prevention solutions.

Please note: There is no requirement to register for the Zero Waste Conference to attend this members-only forum. Registration for the conference is separate and can be found here. All employees of our member organizations are welcome to attend.
